How To Use Altimeter Watch

Louis Paul Cailletet was the French physicist who invented the altimeter and the high-pressure manometer in 1877. Altimeter is an instrument that measures the altitude of something with respect to a set level. An altimeter watch is a wrist top instrument that allows the wearer to determine their current elevation. With an altimeter watch, you have access to a unique technology that determines and informs you of your current elevation, whenever and wherever you need it. It is easy to use a watch with an altimeter feature, it just takes several minutes. Setting the Time and Date The time and date functions will probably be the most used features on your watch. To set the time and date, hold down the "Select" button for 2 seconds while in regular Timekeeping mode. The seconds place will begin to flash, indicating the setting screen. Use the "On/Off" and "Quick" buttons to increase and decrease the number values to the appropriate time. When you've set the seconds place, press the "Select" button to advance the flashing. Repeat the procedure to set the minutes, hour, day, month and year on your watch. When you have finished setting the time and date on your watch, press the "Mode" button to exit the settings screen. Using the Chronometer Many Suunto watches are equipped with a chronometer that allows users to measure elapsed time and split time. To set the chronometer, access the Chronometer mode by pressing the "Select" button while in regular Timekeeping mode. Use the "On/Off" buttons to start, pause, restart and stop the timing. Use the "Quick" button to store the lap time, record split time and clear the chronometer. Setting an Alarm Your Suunto watch is capable of saving up to three alarms at a time. These alarms can be used to wake you from sleep or remind you of important appointments. To set an alarm on your Sunnto watch, use the "Select" button to access the Alarm mode. Use the "On/Off" and "Quick" buttons to scroll through the three alarm screens. To select an alarm screen, hold the "Select" button for 2 seconds. The digits on the screen will begin to flash, indicating that you have entered the settings screen. Use the "On/Off" and "Quick" buttons to select the desired time for your alarm. Press the "Select" button to advance the flashing and repeat the procedure to set the minutes and hour for your alarm. When the alarm sounds, press any button on the watch to silence it. Setting the Altimeter Your Suunto altimeter watch allow you to determine your current elevation and track your total ascents and descents. To set the altimeter on your watch takes only a few seconds and requires very little information, "Select" button is available to access the Altimeter mode. The "On/Off" button can be used to select "ALTI" from the presented options. If you want to advance the flashing, just feel free to press the "Select" button. The "On/Off" and "Quick" buttons are used for selecting the desired reference altitude. For more additional altimeter setup preferences, please press the "Select" button.
